April 2008 Update and March Concurrency Numbers
April 15,2008 14:20 - Rollie
It's that time of the month again and we have calculated the March concurrency numbers provided by the
CensusPlus UI Addon.
Patch 2.4 continues to prove enough to keep the majority of players still playing. Numbers are largely flat with only a slight overall decline. This comes on the heels of
WoW breaking 1 Million concurrent users in China alone.
With no major content patches until the
Wrath of the Lich King expansion, it will be interesting to see how many players drift away until then. There are also various other MMO's on the horizon, such as Warhammer Online and Age of Conan.
In other news, WoWInsider is reporting that WotLK is in
closed alpha testing stages. I am putting my unofficial sticker on the calendar for the end of November for a WotLK ship date. Time will tell!

And I'm also saying a November or December time frame for a release. Can't miss Christmas shopping season again!
