(Also, throwing this out there, MG-H has gained another ~100 censii in the last 48 hours. Someone must be SOOPER SRS about their playtime and their census quota....)

The version of WhoLib from last weekend have already spawned a new version of CensusPlus.. --> http://www.warcraftrealms.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5029

So unless a new version of WhoLib have seen the light of day, within the last 2-3 days, then we're already up to date

As Fukie said, this is a Blizzard thing. Addon authors have no control on this action.

New CensusPlus minor update 6.0.1b - Official libwho update

The library got updated last week and is now integrated into CensusPlus.

The update was just sent to curseforge and should show up at the normal curse location in a little bit.

Confession time... I oops with the .1a release.. instead of building the .zip from my release track.. it got built from my test track... and it already has an unofficial update of the lib as the default active processor.

i.e. functionally there isn't any difference in the two updates... and if you don't use any other addons that utilize the libwho library.. there isn't a real need to update. and if you do It probably doesn't matter unless those addons get new updates to reflect the version number differences in the library.

I've personally always just logged out on the starting point, 20s is irritating but less so than trying to walk to an inn on a server whose census ends very fast!

I am thinking that for optimal coverage, parking up in a spot which gathers a lot of traffic and leaving your mouse pointer over the busiest path will likely add a lot of crossrealm people though - I'm honestly not 100% sure if <10 ever get into the database these days (I'm sure they occasionally do, but not sure of the circumstances), but if they do, then Northshire Abbey and Sunstrider Isle are likely the best spots as both tend to be very busy. If not, then definitely outside Goldshire Inn for alliance, and for Horde, hmm... maybe gates of Orgrimmar gathers the most people?

I was careful in selecting the sex of first few characters I created back with WoW patch 1.3 (March 2005) and making sure that I created one of each combination faction/race/sex of characters (and more or less randomly each class.)

Since then I've created hundreds of characters starting even before I registered here,(for a while I was one of the unregistered), and while I will sometimes bother picking race and/or class (normally when patches change how a class plays) I just let the sex of the alt be whatever the software offered.

I believe almost all zones (except Org, SW and all Pandaria zones) will be crossrealmed at very nearly all times, as there will never be enough own-realm players in them to turn it off. Even Elwynn (which usually has tons of people in Goldshire/outside SW gates) and Durotar (ditto for outside gates) never get un-crossrealmed. I believe Northern Barrens is not crossrealm for the duration of this patch, but will likely go back to it after 5.4. Don't forget crossrealm players can be in any zone though, if they've been invited by a friend...

One part of me likes the idea of crossrealm census, the other part makes me think, it will be complex and probably add a big chunk of time onto short censuses. By my counting from wowhead's listings of zones, we're looking at 108 new queries being added to a census (excluding the not-usually crossrealmed ones which may still have visitors in), and that's before you hit any with 50+ people in them. That'll be a massive increase to time on low pop servers, and won't help much on the high pop ones which already take ages. So hmm, I like the more data idea, but it may be a bit much...

That said, it brings me to a feature I'd like to request which probably won't be much work over what you're proposing here; a manual census of a particular zone (including non crossrealmed zones), to see how many are there. It's just a curiosity thing really, but I often wonder how many are trying to kill Oondasta, or are present at some new bit of content where it feels crazily laggy, but of course I can only gather it's "more than 50" - Censusplus would be able to work it out a lot more easily than I can!

Thank you for everything Rollie; you created a great site and community here; yes, things have been struggling for a while, but I'm glad you've been able to hand over to someone who can keep it going and hopefully revive it again.

I certainly hope the pressure being off means you'll drop in more often now - can totally understand how hard it's been recently, so it'd be great to see you again without it just being "please fix this!"

This may result in a flood of uploads...

What Fuxie said! It must absolutely suck to lose your account; I took warning after a friend lost his back in Burning crusade days and got an authenticator around the time they introduced them; I'd never be without one now, it's just too risky, sadly Pretty much everyone I know who doesn't use one, has been hacked at some point (and most have got them afterwards).

Glad you've got it back now, but please please, save yourself the stress and protect your account now

Always thought it'd get delayed - there's absolutely zero point in them competing with themselves, and unless they made either "Titan" or WoW free-to-play, then that's exactly what they'd be doing; most of us aren't rich enough to pay for two MMOs (and not really have time to play both fully), so would pick one or the other, not both. Methinks they began developing the new one before they realised how long WoW would last...
