Top Guilds By XP?

How does the "Top Guilds By XP" feature in the addon (btw what's the difference between addon and mod?) works?

The guilds that show on top, I know they are not the best ones from the server, so... How does this works?

The addon, unless I am somehow mistaken, counts which guilds have highest amount of experience and the top list is based on that. There are few "loopholes" which can not be avoided though. Firstly... the addon can not distinguish good players from bad ones... an 80 is an 80 is an 80... etc. Secondly... if some guild has lots of members who are never seen by the people running censuses, that guild will rank lower, because the addon can only gather data from characters that are online.

The difference... hmmm... this is a bit oversimplified, but basically addons are things that customize things, but don't offer unfair advantages to ones using them (like abitlity to change the size and / or position of various bars in the UI or Censusplus, which just gathers data), mods often do things that are forbidden by Blizzard (examples could include things like ability to walk / shoot through walls, teleportation for non-mages, etc.).
