Economy Saturation

This just hit me as I was scanning the AH.
With an addon like Auctioneer it's very easy to see an estimate of how many pages there are in the auction.

If that information is available for the realms, it may not be as accurate data as others, but it will show relatively how active the economy is and we all know, Active Economy = Active Players.

I also believe it will be a valuable statistic to people who want to change realms that will be easier to get items in. (For example, on Warsong anything and everything will be on sale at the AH. Now only if I can understand what half of them are saying in the chat...)
