Eh, saves me the work.

Though I was under the impression that most of the Ruin Realm servers were WoW Beta servers, and that they were hosted in a datacenter in VA(that was even hit by a tornado during the WoW beta)... Of course, I guess having the host datacenter nearly destroyed would be a good reason to relocate to one that isn't in pieces.

I guess I'm somewhat intrigued by the methodology used to determine the location of those datacenters. If they're going by IP lookups, they could find themselves sadly mistaken.

For example, I own a webserver that is located in Houston, Texas. But if you look up the IP, it reports back as being in San Francisco, California. (while the whois entry for the namesever itself would send them to Idaho)

Edit: eh, on second thought, I guess traceroutes could be reasonably effective if some of the hops immediately before getting to the server are descriptive enough to be able to determine where they are physically.

Ruin was definately in VA, I haven't checked lately though, pretty sure they didn't relocate back then but could very well have changed things around at one of those longer hardware maintenance downtimes or even as part of a network load balancing change initiated by the hosting party.
