I'd like to look at my guilds size progression. For example, I'd like to see:
Guild Name -- Shadow Brotherhood
First seen: Oct 08, 05 -- Last seen: Oct 16, 06
Members Date
19 Nov 10, 05
24 Nov 19, 05
27 Nov 21, 05
29 Nov 26, 05
And if you click on the Date, you'd get a guild list for that date, so I could look back and see that on November 21st of 2005 we only had 27 members, 5 level 60's etc...
Thx

Ooof, that'd be a doosy =)
I like the idea though, and it may very well be doable, I'll have to see what I can come up with. |

it'd mean exponentially saving guild rosters for a kajillion guilds for years to come.
Basically the only reason not to have an updated guild roster would be if there was no one new in/out, or that leveled.

From the way I see it, it wont require you saving any additional data than whats available.
Similar to how we have the search for Ex-Guild members. It searches the whole database for people who had that guild tag at sometime. It then stores that data temp for a week (?) (can't remember the exact time, but it wasn't forever).
To do what the op requested, the database will be searched for any chars that it can find with that guild tag that was there at that specific date.
Seems easy to write in words, but I bet its a doosy for Rollie to program
And not to mention the excess loads that it puts on the already loaded servers, and it will also extend the search query to be even longer than what goes on with the Ex-Guild searches. _________________

I'd say only have it update 2-4 times a month. Don't want to slaughter the servers.
But I too like the suggestion.
And actually, I don't it would really be necessary to have the hyperlinks, as that is essentially the ex-Guild members list. Just have the numbers outputted to the right of the date. _________________ Admin on WoWWiki

I'd like to see a dropdown option of ranking a guild by size (# of members) rather than just by experience. It makes a lot of difference to a person looking for a guild to level up in from level 10-65 let's say. Right now, the only benefit by ranking a guild by experience points is to a person who is looking for an endgame guild. _________________
