|
|
I was looking at the new WR Profiles (which are very nice by the way) and played with the manage characters section. Here I was able to set which characters are primary, alts, deleted etc.
My question is, since I've marked which characters are deleted from my account, do you think you will ever use that as a mechanism in the future for cleaning up old records from your database? Obviously it won't get rid of all deleted characters as most people would probably never even know they could do this, but seems like a quick script could remove those that the "owners" have designated as obsolete. |

| No, I don't foresee using this to delete records from the database. They still serve historical purposes. If anything I'll add a section on the character pages to indicate how the user has set them. |

And in any case, "deleting" your character doesn't really delete it. It just ends up archived somewhere. When you end up coming back, all you have to do is ask a GM to restore it, and -boom-, there you have it.
So deleting it from the DB isn't going to work in the long run. ;P _________________ Admin on WoWWiki

On a side note, can we get a confirmation on the "clear claim" link? I accidentally clicked it while I meant to click my sigmaker Maybe I'm just clumsy... >_> _________________

It just removes it from your account. You can go back in and claim it again. _________________

I swear when I made that post, there was a question about "what do I do now?" or "does it hurt anything?"
