New Realms In Brazil

I noticed they added new realms and a Brazil tab in the Realm Selection, I guess because that country speaks a different language than the rest of South America. The new realms are a PvE, Goldrinn, and a PvP realm, Nemesis. I went to check it out, msot of the population are just below level 22 but a few level 80's who I guess tranferred over from other realms. Anyhow, will these realms get counted if I update Census info or does Rollie have to do something on his end first?

Rollie needs to add the new servers to his database so users can add Census data.
(I believe Rollie has been notified.) {However it might just make sense for him to wait a few days because another new server will be going up in the EU region also.}

On the other hand.. I just tried to see if Blizzard even has the new servers up on the US realm status views.. and they don't. {Doesn't show up when doing the webapi calls either.} So I guess we just have to cut Rollie some slack Wink

The question is will Rollie just add the Brazil as standard US servers and ignore the language difference or split them out like the different EU servers.

After that assuming that you use the normal US English client.. you will be able to do census runs.
If you load the ptBR language pack, then it will require an update to the Census+ addon.. so don't use the language pack if your just going there to run Census+

If you are not submitting data to Warcraftrealms.com.. you can go ahead and start running census on the new servers.. but don't update the data, at best it will just be ignored.. or it could confuse Rollies updating scripts and slow the processing of your update.. at worse he might just kick out your update file as faulty data.

I'm gonna guess that Rollie will list the new realms under the U.S. since he presently has the Oceanic and South American realms listed there. Since the data is under a trial account, I don't have to submit it right away and instead do what we did last year when waiting for Rollie to update his database, just rename the files so they don't get overwritten and then upload them when Rollie finishes his end. Funny thing is I just checked the WoW armory app on my iPhone and it shows the alts from those new realms, despite their being only level 1;s.

Hello guys,

I'm from Brazil and actually now there are 4 servers: Azralon(PvP), Goldrinn(PvE), Nemesis(PvP) and Tol Barad (PvP). This Tol Barad server was opened only for new players, so you won't find many 85's there.

One more thing is that the brazillian community who played on US server now are transfering their chars to the brazilians realms. If you take a look on realms like Warsong and Gurubashi that was full, now they are empty, cuzz of the free transfers blizzard offered to us brazilians.

On the brazilian foruns there are alot of people interested in this addon but many of them doesn't speak english. So, if you need someone to translate the addon, I can help.

has been 1 month that Brazilian servers openned, but still isn't on warcraftrealms database

I emailed Rollie a few weeks ago about the new servers and heard back from him yesterday - real life is being very hard on him right now so he's been offline for some time, but he intends to get this sorted in the next few days. So hopefully we can be updated with the Brazilian realms and the European Portuguese realm soon Smile

Just for info:
Azralon and Tol Barad are in the Shadowburn battlegroup at the Chicago datacenter
Goldrinn and Nemesis are in the Rampage battlegroup at the Chicago datacenter

and while the Brazilian website showed ptBR - Blizzards api guy 'Straunton' indicates that api locale reference is pt_BR

Well in a couple more months it won't matter anyway since add-ons will be done away with once MoP comes out.

I suspect Korwynd meant that many addons won't work properly or at all after MoP comes out. Censusplus might run or not (Balgair has volunteered to test once MoP Beta allows the testing of addons), but without updates, it WILL miss out on pandas and all monks, even if it runs otherwise.

And the site needs updates too, to allow for pandas and all monks. If Rollie's difficult IRL situation continues, we might be heading for the end of Censusplus+. *sad panda face*

I managed to grab Rollie while he was working on the db and we now have five Brazilian servers! Also have the two forthcoming Italian servers, and hopefully the EU Portuguese server (it's in the database, although whether the database will actually recognise it or just puke over the brackets in its name is another question... Razz

But unfortunately... we didn't know that Blizzard appended some text after the realm name..
for example ["EU-Aggra (Português)"] so that will need to be corrected...

I hope they haven't stealth done that on other localized realms, or Rollie will have more work cut out for him.

Well, I knew that and told Rollie that, it's been on the name since it was launched Razz

Seems the database doesn't like it though! And no, that's the only realm with that on it, so others are safe.

Could something along the lines of

If RealmName = ["EU-Aggra (Português)"] then RealmName = ["EU-Aggra"]

injected somewhere to remove the problem?

I realise I may be oversimplifying the problem, but does the above work even in theory?

Bringoutyourdead has done a great job of implementing the above fix into today's release of Censusplus - fast work! I tested it on Aggra Horde last night and it has indeed processed correctly Smile
