I think I know the answer already, but just want to confirm, since for my server things don't match up completely.

In Game time has I understand it would be local server time versus earth time which would be whereever I play at, Eastern time for me.

Is that correct ? Or is there another time being used ? I ask, because when I look at my server, it looks like everyone stop playing around 8PM server time, which I know isn't true. So I'm just trying to marry up the game time with real time. I understand it could be because there is no updates for after 8PM server, which still seems odds, as i'm pretty sure I've uploaded updates that woudl include 10pm or 22:00 game time.

Just a side note, I really did try using the search fuction for game time and earth time, but it just game me a slew of hits I tried with quotes "Game time" and still got alot of hits.

I'm sure I'm missing the forest for the trees.

Server time is the time used in the location of the server in question. Your own local time is in a way irrelevant, except that if you live a in very different time zone, you may mostly play at off-peak hours.

USA being as large (wide) as it is, big differences between local and server time are possible. For us EU players, servers are mostly an hour ahead, the same as our own local or an hour behind.

But, now for the trickier part: Warcraftrealms also have a physical location. I live at GMT+2, EU servers are located at GMT+1, but Warcraftrealms are located somewhere in the GMT-6 area.

This big difference means I actually supply data, which is ahead of time from WCR point of view... If I submit data from Tuesday at 02:34 my local time, it arrives to WCR at approximately 18:36 on Monday evening and contains data, which will add to 01 part of the graph, because the following applies:

"This display shows the average player activity over 24 hours for the specified srver. The hours 0 - 23 are based on the IN GAME time, not EARTH time."

Malfurion is according to info listed located in CST, so you have to adjust your perspective to that. At the moment, it seems there are no Alliance entries between 21 and 02 and only 4 entries on the Horde side in the same time period, 2 at 21, 1 at 22 and 1 more at 01...

Thanks for the reply. Though I have to admit I'm not sure I fully understand your reply.

I completely understand GMT time, and that my server isn't located in the same time zone I am in. I'm just wanting to confirm that "in game time" is just another way of saying "server time" and that Earth time is just another way of saying your local time.

If I am understanding your answer, then IN game time, just means Server time, versus some other univerisal time (like GMT) that I am unaware of. I saw that there were no entries for times after 20:00 Server time, which I thought I had loaded some updates that should have included uo to 23:59. But I'm not playing that much these days, so maybe I'm just mistaken on my data collection times.

Thanks for your reply, Unless someone says otherwise I'm going to go with In game time just meaning server time.

Uh, sorry for being unclear, but you are correct, in game time = server time. Very Happy

The point I was trying to make was basically that some people get confused, because for some people, server time, their local time and WCR time are all the same... for some two don't match the third and for some, like me, all three are different.
