Looting Etiquette for Yasnaki members should be the following:
In most group situations, looting should be set at group.
Group members should hit greed to roll on all items.
When to hit need:
You may hit need if all the following occur:
1. It is an item your character can use...(NOT an alt. only the character in the group) and it is NOT being taken only to be sold...
Many items are useful to certain classes and professions...those items should be rolled on (by hitting need) only by the players with that class/profession.
2. You have messaged the group that you would like to have the item first.
All rare and epic drops should never be needed until the group has decided who will roll on the item.
Passing on the item:
If you do not wish to roll on the item you can select pass. You do not have to pass on an item just because it is not useful for your class or level. All group members should have the chance to profit from the looting. Hitting greed means you do not need the item, so do not feel pressured to pass. Some higher levels pass on items while helping lower levels but this is NOT mandatory. They are there to help you and they should get a little loot for the job!
Master Looter
This is a great loot setting as long as the master is an experienced player with a reputation for being fair. The master will check the corpse and tell the group about any green, rare, or epic items to be rolled on. (Before picking anything up..so as not to bind any items.) The drop is rolled on by players with classes/professions that can use the item. This is the common looting in high level instances where most party members are trying to collect rare and epic drops.
Free for All
This looting is only useful when you are collecting quest items by looting and there is only one person in the group that needs the items. Usually a situation where other players are helping a player complete a quest. Remember to be generous to your helpers and ask if they would like to roll on any green/rare/epic items you find. (Before you pick it up!) You can also set the looting to epic, rare or common...which will automatically start a roll on any of these types of drops.
* Free for all does not help groups collect quest items faster...drop rates are the same as group. It usually only helps the player that can loot the fastest.
